Greetings again in the mighty Name of Jesus! It’s wonderful to be able to share my heart with you again. On Easter weekend I ministered at a youth retreat in Grand Island, Nebraska. The kids that attended were between the ages of 11-18. I would dare to say that the majority of them arrived with broken hearts and spirits a result of life’s disappointments and from going through some pretty hard stuff. One young man approached me after the first session and asked if he may speak with me. His name is Rodrigo and he is from El Salvador. A few months ago, at the age of 18, he left his home and family and traveled alone to the United States. He began to weep and share his heart about how his parents never really wanted him, as he was constantly reminded by his military father, and that he had attempted suicide 5 times because he felt he was unloved and worthless. He was shaking the entire time he was trying to talk with me but throughout the 2 day event I watched as God took that sweet young guy’s heart and made him whole and new again. His whole countenance changed!
There also was a 16 year old girl from South Dakota that came to me and thanked me for coming and for the Word that God spoke through me. She had been raped by her cousin when she was 12 years old several times and hadn’t been able to tell anyone about it. That weekend God set her totally free because she was able to forgive him and her heart was transformed right before our very eyes. I sensed in my spirit that many of you may be going through a winter season where everything appears to be dead, and it appears like nothing is happening. You may be in a place where you don’t understand the why’s or the what for’s. I too have been in there many times throughout these more than 30 years since my rebirth. It can feel like a dark, lonely, and cold place where we question at times whether God has forgotten us.
Isaiah 49:14-15 But Zion said, The Lord has forsaken me, And my Lord has forgotten me. Can a woman forget her nursing child, and not have compassion on the son of her womb? Surely they may forget, Yet I WILL NOT FORGET YOU! See I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands; Your walls are continually before Me.
He is the Vinekeeper and is doing a deep work within your hearts and souls. He knows what is necessary for your healthy growth. Maybe you can’t see it with your physical eyes, but He is preparing you for the next stage so that you can yield much fruit. I can’t image that anything in nature enjoys the cold frigid winters anymore than we do, but each season is necessary in order that life come forth in the next. Hidden inside of you and I is God’s eternal purpose. The seed that He planted one day in the soil of your heart, and in order for it to come into full maturity we must learn to trust Him, knowing even if it is painful, that He will never leave you nor forsake you. He is faithful and His love endures forever. Be encouraged, Our Lord Reigns! He makes all things beautiful in time. Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things that God has prepared for those who love Him.
Ecclesiastes 3:14 I know that whatever God does, it shall be forever. Nothing can be added to it, and nothing taken from it. God does it, that men should fear before Him.
